The Escondido Soccer Club (ESC) was founded in 1976 but back then it was known as the North County Youth Soccer Association (aka NCYSA). In 2011, ESC will launch it's 36th year of soccer in Escondido, California. ESC has existed predominately on volunteer power and has benefitted from generous donations from the community to keep it's programs going strong.
The Recreational Program is the foundation of the Escondido Soccer Club that focuses on developing soccer players through athletic competition within a safe, fun and supportive environment.
Recreational teams are formed in mid July. Practices may begin after July 31st. Our Opening Day will be August 24th.. Our Post Season Tournament starts the second Saturday of November for the younger ages (U6 - U8) and the first week of November for the older ages (U10-U14). The finals will be played on November 16th.
Practice places and times are picked by the coach of your team. Practices are held at schools and parks in Escondido. The most common days and times are MW or TH from 5-6 or 6-7. All games will be played in Ryan Park. Regular season games are on Saturdays, some post season games will be on weeknights.

Team Formation notes:
We do try to place the U6-U8 players with schoolmates and friends as much as possible to foster a comfortable environment as the kids learn basic soccer skills. Please write any requests on the registration form or make a note in the comments section if you register online.
The U9-U14 divisions are a little more competitive so we try to make the teams even by having the players attend an evaluation and using a draft to form the teams. Requests are difficult to accomodate in these divsions but you are welcome to make a request and cross your fingers. Your chances of getting what you want is better if we know about it. All players who attend one of the evaluation sessions are eligible to be drafted. The players who can't attend evaluations will be placed randomly on teams after the draft as space allows.
There are usually only one or two teams in each U15/16 and U17/18/19 division. These are travel teams. Half of the games will be at Ryan Park, the other half is usually played at other fields in North County. The first game is after Labor day, the last one the weekend before Thanksgiving.
